Frequently Asked QuestionsClick to open/close

What will happen to CYT in preparation?

Until CYT closes, we will actively improve, change and optimize spaces within CYT for use by students including those living in the new residence hall. Books and furniture may shift as collections are prepared for the move. The disruption between moves will be minimal and we will make every effort to ensure smooth transitions.

What will happen to CYT during renovations?

CYT will close for extensive renovation for a period of 12-18 months. A temporary service point at another location on East Campus will open and ensure library services continue to be available. Library services to be provided include delivery, reserves, printing, laptop checkout, and research help. Information and resources are also available online at

Where are all the books going?

When CYT is closed, some books will move to the Library Depository Retrieval Facility (LDRF) on East Campus. A small collection that will return to CYT will be housed near the temporary service point. Most items found in the Libraries catalog can be delivered within 24 hours of request.
