Updates to C.Y. Thompson Library (CYT) are underway as part of a revitalization of East Campus. These renderings help conceptualize the transformation of space. The updated CYT will include individual and collaborative study spaces, a cafe, learning technology, multi-media displays, meeting rooms, and multi-disciplinary book collection.

When will CYT close, and what should I expect prior to closing?

To prepare for the closure, the building will close to the public at 5 pm on May 3, 2019.

Until CYT closes, books and furniture may shift as collections are prepared for the move. The disruption between moves will be minimal and we will make every effort to ensure a smooth transition.

Where will I find C.Y. Thompson collections during building updates and how do I get to them?

The collections will move to both the Food Industry Complex and the Library Depository Retrieval Facility (LDRF) on East Campus Loop.

Materials in the collections are available through Delivery/Interlibrary Loan. All Delivery/Interlibrary Loan items will need to be picked up at the LDRF location.

Starting Monday, May 6, Hours for the LDRF reading room will be M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Most items found in the Libraries catalog can be delivered within 24 hours of submitting an Delivery/Interlibrary Loan request for the item.

Where do I find course reserve materials?

During the summer, reserves requested for C.Y. Thompson Library will be available in the reading room of the Library Depository Retrieval Facility (LDRF) located on the East Campus Loop.

Starting Monday May 6, The LDRF reading room will be open M-F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Is there parking close to the Library Depository Retrieval Facility?

There is limited parking at this location, but parking is available adjacent to the building on the street.
