Pages to Paths

Pages to Paths

Pages to Paths was a yearlong celebration of the University Libraries that honored our history, highlighted key milestones, and invited people to help shape what’s next.

We marked the anniversaries from Love Library to the Dinsdale Family Learning Commons and showcased how the Libraries continue to evolve to support research, learning, and community. It was a chance for all Nebraskans to reconnect with the Libraries and see what’s possible when we build the future together.

About pages to paths

Pages to Paths was a yearlong initiative that celebrated the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Libraries—its history, its people, and its evolving role in the state’s research and learning landscape. Through this campaign, we marked five major milestones that reflect on how we’ve grown in response to the changing needs of students, faculty, and communities.

These milestones, spanning from 1943 to 2021, reflect key turning points in a much longer story. The Libraries have supported generations of Nebraskans in their academic and professional journeys. We’re proud to steward over three million volumes, enable access to hundreds of thousands of digital resources, and offer expert support for research, teaching, and learning. Our story continues to unfold, shaped by new questions, new technologies, and new opportunities to serve.

Pages to Paths invited students, faculty, alumni, and Nebraska residents to engage with the Libraries' past and contribute to shaping our future. By raising awareness of our services, spaces, and partnerships, we aim to inspire renewed connections and shared investment in the Libraries as a vital part of Nebraska’s public research and learning mission.

Cheers!

“If we expect to have a future, we need to preserve our past, the past is embodied by the library.”
