Book Finder Bookmarklet

UNL Book Finder Toolbar

Now you can look for books on Amazon, or anywhere an ISBN can be found on a page, and find out if you can get it at UNL Libraries.

How It Works

  1. Find a book online that displays the ISBN number on the page.
  2. Click on the UNL Libraries Book Finder in your browsers toolbar.
  3. Three (3) pop up windows will display search results for UNL Libraries, WorldCat and UBorrow.

This bookmarklet works best in Internet Explorer and Firefox. It also works in Chrome, but only allows the UNL Libraries pop up box.

Get The Bookmark

Add the UNL Libraries Book Finder bookmark to your browsers toolbar by following the instructions below.

If your browsers toolbar is displaying:

Drag the link to your toolbar and the bookmark will be added: UNL Libraries Book Finder

If your browsers toolbar is NOT displaying, you'll need to enable it:

Instructions for Firefox

  1. Select View > Toolbars.
  2. Check the box next to the Bookmarks Toolbar. You should see a row display below your browsers URL box.
  3. Follow the instructions above for adding the bookmarklet to the toolbar

Instructions for Internet Explore

  1. From your menu bar, select View > Toolbars > Favorites Bar
  2. Once activated, you should see a row display below your menu bar.
  3. Follow the instructions above for adding the bookmarklet to the toolbar.

Instructions for Google Chrome
NOTE: Chrome only allows the pop up box for UNL Libraries search results.

  1. On the far right of the URL window, click on the menu icon (3 stacked bars called the 'hamburger')
  2. Select Bookmarks > Show Bookmarks Bar
  3. Once activated, you should see a row display below your menu bar.
  4. Follow the instructions above for adding the bookmarklet to the toolbar.
