Request & Pick up Library Materials
Accessing UNL Libraries books while the stacks are closed
You Request, We Retrieve
UNL Students, Faculty & Staff may search the catalog and HathiTrust for the electronic versions of our books. If the book is not electronically available through our ebook collections or HathiTrust, you may request the item through Interlibrary Loan. Libraries staff will retrieve the book from our shelves and you will be able to pick up the book at the closest library location.
Community Users will find information about requesting items and accessing Libraries resources on the Community Resources & Services page.

Tutorial: Finding Electronic Books in HathiTrust
Request books from our shelves
If you do not find the electronic version in HathiTrust, send us a request for the book.
- Log into your Interlibrary Loan account.
- Request the book using our book request form.
- Libraries staff will pull the book from the shelf for you.
- Once the book is available, we will send you an email notice to pick up items or request individual chapters.
We no longer require UNL students, faculty and staff to schedule a time to pick up materials.
If items you request are available electronically through our Ebooks or HathiTrust ETAS, we will send you a link to that electronic resource. This page provides additional information about why you are receiving the electronic version over the print version.
